Spotting

Description:

About 15mm long. Black with 5 pale blue stripes across it's abdomen. Pale segments of the legs and a pale band that looks like a moustache.

Habitat:

Found on a sandy track.

Notes:

Similar coloured banding on the abdomen to the Blue-banded bee but I'm unsure if this is the correct ID.

I cant help with ID sorry Rachael, but I think he's beautiful! My guess would be a Flower Wasp or Soldier Fly, but I really dont know.
