Carolina Wren

Thryothorus ludovicianus

Description:

A small thrush-like bird with nuthatch antics, Thryothorus ludovicianus, the Carolina Wren is a favorite of many birders. It is a small bird with a prominent white line above its eye. The cap and wings are chestnut colored. The throat is white, and the breast is a mustard color.

Habitat:

Widespread and common throughout the Eastern United States, into the most southern points of Ontario, Canda, and the most northeastern points of Mexico.

Notes:

This is definitely one of my favorite birds! I'm so glad how 2013 has started! :)

Thank you very much, Fyn and Gatorfellows. It really is a beautiful bird. This was the second time I've seen one, and both times, I've not heard their calls in person, but that's is ver beautiful as well. Thanks to you both again for your comments.
