Tailorbirds get their name from the way their nest is constructed. The edges of a large leaf are pierced and sewn together with plant fibre or spider silk to make a cradle in which the actual nest is built. Like most warblers, the Common Tailorbird is insectivorous. The song is a loud cheeup-cheeup-cheeup with variations across the populations. The disyllabic calls are repeated often. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Tail...)

Two tiny birds were fighting furiously for some time close to my home in Alathur, Palakkad District, Kerala, India. I went into my room, took the camera and began shooting. But they left when I tried to get closer, continuing their fight in mid-air. I do not know what made them fight. Can anybody help?
Thank you, YukoChartraw. But, they need not be females and are Tailor Birds. I have corrected the ID.
Thank you, SatyenM. I have edited my spotting according to your suggestion.
Amazing spotting capturing the great moment. Can tell from the photo #3 how furious they were.
Hi Vincent,
These are not Purple Sunbird Female but they are Common Tailorbirds. The colour and the beaks are very different. Please check here: http://orientalbirdimages.org/search.php... for Purple Sunbird Female. For Common Tailorbird you can check here: http://orientalbirdimages.org/search.php...
