Black Velvet Bolete

Tylopilus alboater, Basidiomycetes

Description:

Cap 1 1/4 -6" wide;dark brown to black, with hoary bloom at first. Flesh grayish-white, becoming pinkish. Pores white, becoming pinkish. July -September. Velvet cap.

Habitat:

Under deciduous trees, especially oak.

Notes:

Pretty in Pink.

Some sort of Boletus sp. I can't really say which one.
