Wooly Milkweed

Description:

Umbel shaped yellow and white inflorescence clustered on the top of a stem about 1 foot long. The leaves are lance shaped and thick, wavy and fuzzy.

Habitat:

Field along highway in town. This species is native and endemic to California.

Notes:

Milkweed is famous as being the primary food source for the larva of Monarchs.
