Slenderlined Longicorn

Syllitus Grammicus

Description:

A tiny longicorn beetle only 10mm long. Very tidy with reddish brown thorax and head and smooth striped elytra.

Habitat:

Found under strong lights at night in auto sales yard... (on a Holden bonnet I think)

Notes:

We had just found many other types of cerambycidae and this one really brought a smile because of it's size. At first I thought it must be some kind of 'rice bug'. :-) http://bie.ala.org.au/species/urn:lsid:c...

Neat Argy Bee
These smaller ones (as a group) are called flower longicorns and are sometimes seen feeding on nectar of flowers
