Lilium martagon
A magnificent lily found all over Alps, easily recognized by those gorgeous wine-red flowers with dark spots. In full bloom, the flower points downwards, and petals curve backwards into a distinctive shape resembling a turban, with stamens protruding. Here, shot few days before opening.
An emblematic alpine species, found all over alpine pastures and open meadows and woods up to 2800m of altitude.
