Aedes albopictus
The Asian tiger mosquito is an alien species. The species name, albopictus translates as "painted white." This female is missing a leg because I swatted her when she tried to bite me. Perhaps it was because of her stunned condition that she let me take her picture. It looks a bit like she's standing on ice, but it's really a granite bench at the US Naval Academy.
