Stauropus sikkimensis

Description:

4 to 5 cm long. Orange brown in color. 3 phases are clicked: the youngest is yellow ochre; then orange brown and the oldest is black. Resembles a dead twig.

Habitat:

Forest. Clinging to a leaf.

Notes:

Superb camouflage!

thank you NuwanChathuranga! spot on. I googled the images for lobster caterpillar & they matched. Not that I doubt you. Till date, all your identifications have been correct. As the above specimen was found in India, I think it is Stauropus sikkimensis (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stauropus_...)
