Burrowing Owl

Description:

The Burrowing Owl is a tiny but long-legged owl found throughout open landscapes of North and South America. Burrowing Owls can be found in grasslands, rangelands, agricultural areas, deserts, or any other open dry area with low vegetation.

Notes:

Rare Bird - Burrowing Owls are not normally found on the gulf coast, however, each winter at least 1 record stands to be found. This particular bird has shown up at Hackberry Ridge every winter for the past 3 years. However, this is private property access by permission only. It is trespassing if you do not notify one of the land owners to gain access prior to entry. Use this map as a reference only.
