Stately Helmet Orchid

Corysanthes diemenica

Description:

Ground hugging to 4cm, flower - 1, to 15mm across. Gorgeous little thing with deep burgandy patterning.

Habitat:

occuring in moist sheltered sites in open, sclerophyll. Plant blooms during the winter to spring with a 1.5 cm flower. Flowers are pollinated by fungal gnats.

Thanks Vinny , they are so small , luckily i was crouched down , taking a pic of some fungi and caught it out the corner of my eye. =)
