Description:

The smallest African carnivore. Diurnal, sociable and territorial. They live in packs of 10 to 40 animals. Sometimes unrelated helpers will transfer from other packs. Forages for insects and other invertebrates, the occasional snake or lizard and small rodents. This family was playing rather than foraging!

Habitat:

Savannah. Here on the Maasai Mara.
