Fluted Bird's Nest Fungi

Description:

You can see the remnants of the "lid" on fungi in the first photo. In the second photo, you can see tiny ones just starting to emerge from the ground at the base of the already emerged fungi.

Habitat:

Shady, moist dirt with lots of leaf and stick debris in a suburban yard.

VERY NICE! I have observed these amazing fungi pop up suddenly from tree mulch after a heavy rain, last a few days and then they were gone. i think they are very cool too!
