Ricaniid Planthopper

Description:

Brown lacewing/see through wing, small (about 1.5cm across) moth? Sitting on a plant with others. Their wings made a clicking noise as they flew. They were there for almost a month. Now have gone. The wings almost look plastic.

Habitat:

Garden sitting on a shrub.

Notes:

One of 400 species or more. Very difficult to identify the exact one.

Ricaniidae, looks for me like being Piromis translucida rather than Scolypopa australis, which looks almost identical, but has slightly different markings like a more triangular transparent spot.

But you probably need an expert, mostly an Aussie expert for that one to confirm.
