Mouse Spider

Scotophaeus Blackwalli

Description:

A dark brown spider with a wooly dark gray-brown abdomen.

Habitat:

Underbrush in day, nocturnal hunter.

Notes:

Invasive to US from Europe. Like a tarantula when provoked it rubs the hairs on its abdomen off to irritate the instigator's eyes, fortunately not big enough for the defense to effect human eyes.
