Fer-de-lance

Bothrops atrox

Notes:

"Fer-de-lance" was the common name for this snake used by the people I was with in Peru at the time. This was a young snake but it turns out that I probably shouldn't have been this close. They are apparently quite venomous. It was just hanging out on this plant, off the forest floor.
