Long-tailed Skink

Trachylepis megalura

Description:

regular looking large skink with an exceptionally long tail, nearly 45cm (18")

Habitat:

scrubland, lakeshore, 400m

Notes:

I spotted a few long tailed skinks in a large hole near the lake camp of Namizimu. It was my first time seeing them and at first I thought they were snakes until I saw the limbs.
