This gourd is widely known for being used to carry liquids but can also be harvested at a younger age to be eaten. The uses of this gourd are endless. It is believed to come from Southern Africa but has spread to many country's.

I haven't seen these is a long time. My grandmother used to grow them near Ocala. Some were cut into water dippers and others we turned into bird houses. Neat spotting.
