Chipping Sparrow

Spizella passerina

Description:

In the summer, Chipping Sparrows have white-gray underparts, a pale face, a black line through the eye, and a bright rusty-colored crown.

Habitat:

I spotted this sparrow at Pratt Nature Center. It was sitting on a wire fence in the goat pasture and was singing a very loud, trilling song.
