Brown Mantella

Mantella betsileo

Description:

Found this while scrolling through some old photos of mine. This is a brown mantella at the Sedgwick Zoo reptile house. I can't find much on this species. Mantellas while related are distinct from dart frogs.

Habitat:

Endemic to Madagascar. It can found in a wide variety of habitats. From tropical dry forest to moist savanna to freshwater marshland and even rural gardens. They are threatened by habitat loss ironically.
