Lima scabra
The Electric Flame Scallop, also called the Red Electric Flame Scallop has a bright red mantel with red tentacles. The mantel of this species seems to create electricity which can be seen shooting across the mantel like lightning bolts. These surges of electricity are bright enough to be seen in the aquarium when the lights are off. The shell of the various Flame Scallops is covered with fine bumps, making it feel like a file. The Electric Flame Scallop builds a small nest of small rocks and pieces of coral in which it embeds itself.

Yes we should but I would be useless as a spotter LOL. I rely on my DM/spotter :-)
Haha Noted on that one! :) Cheers. We should dive sometime. LOL you could be my spotter!
Yup agree that this is the Electric Flame Scallop (Lima sp.) Was commenting on the scientific name. Lima scabra refers to the Flame Scallop :-)
nope, this is definitely the flame scallop :) i have the video of it as well but its not on you tube so still trying to find a way to upload it!
I see. Oh btw this is Lima sp. which is often confused with its parent species Flame scallop (Lima scabra) which lacks the bio-luminescent mantle tissue that sends a flash of color back and forth like electricity :-)
in Bahura i think. :)
Was this in Ligpo? Spotted a pair there :-)
