Yellow Garden Slug

Limax flavus

Description:

Limax flavus, also known as the tawny garden slug, yellow garden slug, yellow slug, or Limax flavus, is a species of very large, air breathing terrestrial slug, a pulmonate gastropod mollusc in the family Limacidae. It has dark blue tentacles, a long, golden and yellow-spotted soft, fleshy body, and a harder- covered mantle. It feeds on vegetation, such as fungi, vegetables, and decaying matter. Predators include frogs, toads, birds, and ground beetles. These slugs can defend themselves against their enemies with an extra coat of mucus, in which they make themselves slimier and harder to consume.

Habitat:

They mainly live in North America and Europe, where there is a lot of moisture.
