Giant Pitcher Plant

Description:

Large cup like plant in golden brown color with yellow cap, rim of the mouth is rigged like a saw blade, inside a sticky substance which trapped in it bugs of many types including a small frog. single plant off a vine like stem and leaves are like fern like. The cub is a giant species here in Borneo and this one is about the size of my hands, leather like texture skin.

Habitat:

Jungle areas near streams or falls, moist areas mostly dark , I rarely ever see any of Pitcher plants on lower elevations, this one was on Mount Kinabalu, Sabah Malaysia about half way up the trail. Trees were starting to be less in this area ...

Notes:

Unfortunately I was on a toured trip and the pressure of being rushed is not fun because we had no time to take photos, it was about getting us to end and return for next tour....Too bad. I wanted to take more photos but was limted to time..rush rush rush...errrrr
