That's a good question, I didn't think to check how sticky it was. It was growing in mostly sandy soil. I'm thinking maybe oenothera biennis (evening primrose).

I don't know the name of this plant, but I believe I have seen a similar or identical species. Do its leaves and stem stick to clothes because of short hairs?
