Thanks Scott - frustrating that I could find other pictures with three blue petals, but not with a scientific name!

I read an excerpt from A Field Guide to Plants of Costa Rica that there are seven species of Commelina in Costa Rica. One thing to notice about yours: it has 3 blue petals. Several species only have 2 blue petals, although some may have a third reduced lighter colored petal.
