Since a few days a group of eight to ten herons gather in the late afternoonon a field with grass cover just on my doorstep. Because my cats are hunting in the same field and bring their prey back home, I know what the herons hunt. There are common voles (Microtus arvalis), the fattest that I've ever seen.
At the same place there are also Withe Herons, Common Buzzards (Buteo buteo) and Common kestrels (Falco tinnunculus) at the same time.
