A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Tamias striatus
Urban demonstration garden next to farmland.
Chipmunks love the University of Minnesota St Paul campus. This one was found in the demonstration garden, where they often forage through the plants. The garden is directly adjacent to the organic farm fields. This is where I would eat my lunch, and I often left a tiny treat nearby for the chipmunks to enjoy - a nut, berry, or grape - and then quietly observe them. This one is enjoying a grape that I set on the rock.
