Description:

Is a tropical tree, the Kapok is a sacred symbol in Maya mythology.The tree is about 60 to 70 meters high, with a thick trunk that can measure up to 3 meters in diameter, the tree has prop roots.

Habitat:

Native to Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, northern South America and to tropical West Africa.

Notes:

Kapok tree is a sacred symbol in Maya mythology. Ceiba pentandra bark decoction has been used as a diuretic, aphrodisiac, diabetes tyoe II and to treat headache. Ceiba pentandra (kapok) is used to do salt and soap.
