American Black Bear

Ursus americanus

Description:

This was from a winter trip to Yellowstone. It's hard to miss wildlife at Yellowstone when about 30 people with 3-foot long lenses are all pointed at it.

Habitat:

forest

Notes:

I was probably the only person in the park there without a proper camera. I took this with my cellphone (circa 2007) so the quality isn't great. I'm not 100% sure when I got this, it was the day before the park closed in 2007. I'm pretty sure this is not a grizzly, despite it clearly being more brown.
