Desert Woodrat

Neotoma sp.

Description:

I spotted this Desert Woodrat before it spotted me. He had come out from the volcanic rock and I was able to get a good look at his size. He was around a foot in length, very big guy. Then once he saw me he returned to the rock and curiously looked out.

Habitat:

Among volcanic rock, on mountainside within a desert grassland wilderness.
