Caterpillar with video

Palirisa sp.

Description:

A really seriously cool caterpillar. Very bristly but in a well- combed elegant kind of way. Not a hair out of place. As if it has had a long session at a beauty salon. Looks like it is made out of coconut fibres combed into a line of lotus bud domes lined up on its back. Straw coloured.

Habitat:

Outside the dining hall (on the wall) of the resort in the remote village of Borong in Sikkim. This is a remote hilly place.

MrsPbio. Thank you...I agree...but then, if I had a hairstyle that chic I'd use some stinging hairs to keep it from people with cameras mussing it up...Ha ha ha...stinging hairs/bristles or not....it has a neat, well-combed look about it, doesn't it?

I'd bet there are stinging hairs in that chic hair-do...! :o

Thanks, I am truly grateful. That video refuses to be pasted in the box. Keeps saying Problem saving or gives an error message. I have tried...but at least in the comments box it is playing...I am glad you liked it.

I will keep an eye on it. Please, add a link in the description section. Would be a pity if one miss this very nice video!

Looks for me like a Lasiocampidae, but no match found, so not 100% sure...

Can anyone ID this caterpillar? It is unusually chic.

THANKS Ava....I am so happy that the video is working...I tried pasting the link again in the box meant for it but then it said Problem saving. I loved this caterpillar...my sister who follows my spottings said it was a " sweet" caterpillar and then laughed at the adjective. I liked its little black feet.Thank you once again.

Yes, that video is working and I LOVE it's crawl! It starts at the back end and moves forward. And no imposition at all!
