herbaceous upright perennial aquatic plant in our pond; leaves look like elongated hearts; ours in pots got to be about 45 cm or a foot & 1/2 tall; deep blue flowers grow on a tall stem above the leaves leaves and are about 15 cm long blooming in succession from the bottom up
