Karen from the second photo I am agreeing with your thoughts that its a coffee tree, I have a very similar photo myself from a coffee plantation near Waimea canyon in Hawaii, the berries and fruit look very similar to this
Crazy thought, and I am probably waaaaaaay off here..... but could it possibly be a wild coffee? The berries kinda sorta made me think "coffee"......
I'm probably incredibly wrong, but just thought I'd throw it out there..... :/
