it had climbed into the specimen bucket and followed me home

Aporocera seems a bit of a stretch. I couldn't see a good reference to double check it
Thanks Keith and Argy. It is quite a nice little beetle. I will see if I can find anything using Keith's lead
..maybe Aporocera sp. ?
That's a good one. Keith's suggestion looks pretty right but I had no immediately specific luck.
Looks like one of the Case-bearing Leaf Beetles.
