prothorax is lengthened.
head has protuding eyes, long antennae and mandibles (chewing mouthparts).
has two pairs of identical wings.
ten-segmented abdomen without cerci.
lengthened ovipositors.

I agree that there is a similarity but for the long tail. Could it be a different gender?

Argy ,that was my initial reaction. But the previous Snake Fly did not have such a long tail!!
