Longhorn Beetle

Description:

This beetle is quite common in the SAS campus rainforest. Its about 4-7 cm long. It is mainly spotted on the center root of medium sized leaves. It is quite hard to see in the picture above, but their center body has brown stripes coming down. Its color is a mix of dark and light brown, and it is hard to find its legs and arms. Field guides would show that this same animal with it's legs stretched out and visible. This insect has six legs, but in this picture it's legs are hidden beneath its body. Also, this bug might be seen with it's antennas down most of the time. Their arms and legs only come out when they need to move. It also has a very unique eyes, with a light brown color and a unique body structure.

Habitat:

There are different types of long horned beetles with different colors, but this one is mainly found in Asia, resting on leaves.
