Ponytail Palm

Beaucarnea recurvata

Description:

Also called the elephant's foot, this plant is wonderful. It's a mainstay on my desk and makes my day a lot brighter. Found out these guys are actually a succulent. Which is neat. It's also not a true palm. There have been reports of ponytail palms living for 350 years, so this plant will for sure outlive me.

Habitat:

Native to the states of Tamaulipas, Veracruz and San Luis Potosí in eastern Mexico. Introduced in Europe and worldwide as an ornamental plant.
