Description:

Found this growing out of a dead log. Very pretty, anyone know what it is?

Habitat:

Wet, deciduous forest, near a stream with hemlocks, rhododendrons, tulip trees ect.

Thanks for the tip Gully, I agree that is is in the Ganoderma genus, not sure of the species I'm thinking it may be a Ganoderma tsugae. I wish I knew what kind of log it was growing on the forest was predominately Tsuga Canadensis so it being G. tsugae is likely.. I took the picture last year and I don't know what kind of log it was growing from... It could be G. lucidum also

Probably a Ganoderma species. Medicinal Mushroom :-)
