Florida Carpenter Ant

Description:

Carpenter Ants, are one of the most common indoor insect pests of Florida. Elbowed antennae, forewings larger than hindwings, waist constricted. It had two antennae, six legs, and four wings. Florida Carpenter Ants, tend to forage at night. These ants have a fondness for sweets. It's wings are transparent. Carpenter Ants, develope by complete metamorphosis. The antennae are 12-segmented. This ant was five sixteenth of an inch long. This ant was alive, and able to move and fly.

Habitat:

The Florida Carpenter Ant, is widely distributed throughout Florida and some neighboring states. This ant is found indoors in houses.

Notes:

I found one Florida Carpenter Ant, resting on a wall, near some stairs, inside my house. It was about five sixteenth of an inch long. It had two antennae, six legs, and four wings. It's wings were transparent. This ant was alive, and able to move and fly.
