Description:

Native to North American it migrates to S. American. Fast moving swallows that catch flying insects. Crown and back is iridescent dark blue, brown wings and tail and light colored rump. Forehead, nape and undersides are white and has a rusty red throat. Tail is squared off.

Habitat:

Creates conical mud nests under bridges, overpasses, along dams and cliffs. Nests can be solitary or in large colonies.
