A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
A single white egg, about the size of a human thumb from the tip to first knuckle, without a nest.
On the dirt in a potted ivy plant hanging on a small patio overlooking an engineered lagoon and courtyard in a large residential complex.
The chair where I have my morning coffee was directly next to where the ivy hangs until I saw the egg while watering. I fear it's abandoned or will be. We do have frequent hummingbirds, and one built a decoy nest here years previously that I left in place.
