Description:

Large yellow, 5 petal flower with a large cluster of long stamens. Each petal is about 3 inches long. The flowers are on top of long stems about 3 feet tall.

Habitat:

Along roads from Baja California to British Columbia in dry, sandy or rocky areas. This one was in South Lake Tahoe. The last image shows the habitat with grasses, thistle and poppies.
