•They are hermaphrodites. •They feed on vertebrate blood and invertebrate hemolymph. •They have been historically used in medicine to remove blood from patients.

Habitat:

Muddy freshwater pools and ditches with plantiful weed growth in temperate climates -I saw this leech in Hildesheim(Germany)
