Found this Plain Chachalaca, Ortalis vetula, along the Chachalaca Trail at Santa Ana NWR early this afternoon. The group of three birds were only about 5 feet away in the edge of the foliage and cooperated for photos for a few minutes before moving along. Large distinctive bird.
