While scanning throughout Bridgeport State Park for nearly an hour in the 0 degree F. cold for Northern Saw-whet Owls a local guide gave us hope when he gave us directions to this owl (who we named Jimmy). This was the first time I had ever encountered a Northern Saw-whet Owl so the moment was extra special!

We call them the "backup owl", because their call is so similar to the backup warning beeps on trucks. I hear them but never see them; thanks for the visual spotting! Here's their call: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzfXf_2k...
