Description:

Identification: Medium-sized (wingspan 70 mm), unmistakable. Wings clear with black veins. Thorax and head olive green, separated by chestnut band from yellow abdomen. Bluish cast on head. Larvae variably coloured (green, black or brown), with yellow or white lines and orange spiracles.

Habitat:

A range of vegetation

Notes:

Biology: Larvae feed on wild pomegranate (Burchellia), Gardenia, Pavetta, rhino-coffee (Kraussia), Vangueria and coffee. Adults feed in the day while hovering with spread abdominal fan of black hairs.
