Description:

Tan above with large black blotches. Spines are depressible. An uncommon inhabitant of costal and seaward reefs, usually inactive under ledges or in crevices by day. Forages at night on hard-shelled invertebrates.

Habitat:

Sheltering under coral in a shallow lagoon.
