Hibiscus Flower

Hibiscus rosa-sinesis

Description:

This beautiful plant spotted in Lafayette, Louisiana is known for their large leaves, blossoming into big, colorful flowers ranging from white to orange to red. While they are not just pleasant to look at, they are also used for consumption. Many people from all over the world love to make teas out of them as they have some known healthy qualities, treating upset stomach, high blood pressure, and bacterial infections. They are also known to help cure cancer and aid in weight loss.

Habitat:

The hibiscus flower can be found anywhere in the world, growing in both subtropic and tropic areas. Their flowers open up in sunny weather and they tend to grow out rather than up causing them to deprive other organisms from growing in their space. Because of their beauty they attract bees, butterflies, and even hummingbirds, always being a perfect addition to anyone's garden.

Notes:

This hibiscus flower was found in a pot outside a friend's house.
