Black Slug: I went outside at 8:30 a.m. in the morning, and I saw a long black slug, resting on the concrete walkway. It was moving very slowly, towards the grass. This slug was in the extended position, and it was about three inches long. I picked the slug up with my fingers, and it went into the contracted position ( got smaller ), to about one and one fourth of an inch long. The color of this slug was black. It's two lower tentacles were black. This slug was alive, and able to move. Slug, or land slug, is a common name for any apparently shell-less terrestrial gastropod Mollusc.
