Picture-winged Fly

Description:

Tiny. I thought it was a miniature Skipper butterfly when I saw it on the sepals of my jasmine flowers. A closer look and I thought it was a fly with two tiny feathers for wings.

Habitat:

Potted Jasmine plant in flower. The insect was busily exploring the sepals of the flowers that had withered; ignoring the flowers nearby.

Notes:

First time I have seen a fly like this in real life.

Hi! Why do we get the Green Thumb patch?
I got one today...and I am sure it is not because I shot my thumb on a green leaf in this one.
Thanks for telling me.
